UT2004 Colored Name

We now support the possibily to add color codes to your name. Here is a simple manual to use it:

1.) Use a tool like UT2k4MessageColoriser to generate the colored nickname. For example the colored "official FG Nickname" would be €€€FG>ø€@Nickname



2.) Copy this text and paste it into your User.ini in UT2004/System Folder as Name=
Remember to close UT before editing the ini file. If you got problems with incorrect displayed name, make sure the file is saved as ANSI.



3.) Your name is now colored ingame:



Hint:
This method to colorize the name is buggy and i think it was never planned by Epic Games that way. They removed in a patch. We activated it again but you should be aware that its still buggy sometimes.
The best way to have colored names is still by mutators like UTCOMP. But since we dont want to add UTCOMP to all our servers, this method is a "quick and dirty" method to support colored names.

The method described above is deactivated when UTCOMP is active.

It doesn't work under Win10 (at least in my case). I can't get the arrow in ANSI character.
Could you just post a small .txt-file here with the two colour codes?

But it does'nt work either. The arrows appears as blocks under Win10, even when I open your txt-file with the editor.

Then try to use the Tool i posted to generate the ESC Character.

You can also try to generate that sign with pressing ALT + 027

I tried both options. The tool shows only empty blocks.
When I type the ANSI codes, the arrow appears in the editor, but when I try to save, an error message is shown, telling me that I am trying to save unicode characters in ANSI format.
